The “why should we hire you” interview question is so often asked, and is an amazing opportunity for you to shine in a job interview! In this video, I lay out a 3-step framework to structure your answer to rock it every time and stand out way beyond the other candidates with this sample answer.
"𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪?" is such a cringe-worthy interview question. But this video presents a way to answer that does NOT require crafting an elevator pitch, and instead is focused on the business. Let me explain. Most people will answer this question by listing off their best traits and accomplishments. This feels awkward, and only somewhat gets us to the goal of having them picture us in the role. That's why I recommend answering this question using 3 steps: ✅Reiterate what you know about the role. ✅Talk about the skills and results you’ve had that will specifically address those challenges. ✅Flip the question to the interviewer. Ask: Is that how you see me in this role? Tie your entire answer back to what you know about the business goals. Now instead of this answer being a hard-sell, it's a discussion about the biggest challenges at the company and the experience you have to help solve them.
