When you send a follow-up email after the interview, the status of your application can be checked immediately and you can make necessary job hunting decisions right away. Just keep it positive. Following up a 2nd time when you got no response can feel awkward and icky. But it doesn't have to be.
You should ABSOLUTELY follow up even if your 1st or 2nd message went unanswered.
The key is to not be defeated in your follow up:
🚫You mentioned you would respond last week...
🚫I must be getting lost in your inbox...
🚫I'm sorry that I'm bothering you again...
Nope, this "tail between the legs" approach is putting too much of your nervous emotion in.
🍊Instead, keep it peppy.
🍊Assume they need a reminder.
🍊Assume they have been eagerly meaning to write you back but keeps being foiled by competing priorities.
Keep it positive. Keep following up. Persistence gets jobs.
